Before we should start learning that how to kiss, we should know briefly that what exactly a kiss is, and also about the history of kissing.

Basically kiss is a way of expressing one’s love to another. It can be explained as pressing of one’s lips against another person or object. Depending on culture of various geographic areas, a kiss can express sentiments of love, passion, affection, respect, greeting, friendship, peace, victory or good luck and many others. The word “kiss” came from an old English Word cyssan which means “to kiss” and later this word changes to coss which means “a kiss”.
HISTORY OF KISSING
There are many views in public regarding history of kissing. One school of Anthropologists (in respect of origin of kissing) believes that it is instinctual and intuitive and the other that it evolved from what is known as kiss feeding, a process used by mothers to feed their infants by passing chewed food to their babies’ mouths. Even some ancient writer made a poem which includes lips and tongue kissing in their poetry. One of them is:
My lips are too small, they know not to kiss.
My precious sweet, lying by my heart, one by one “tonguemaking,” one by one.
When my sweet precious, my heart, had lain down too, each of them in turn kissing with the tongue, each in turn.

Later on Vedic texts of Indian culture talk about rubbing noses together and in even in epic Mahabharat a poem mentions mouth-to-mouth kissing. The study of kissing started in 19th Century and is called Philematology.
TYPES OF KISSES
There may be many types of kisses but all kiss are symbol of love and happiness. The basic types of kisses are as follow:
- Sexual or Romantic Kiss
- Kiss showing love and affection
- Kiss of Affection
- Kiss as Rituals
- Kiss of peace
- Kiss of Respect
- Non-sexual Kisses
- Kiss of friendship and many more.
Kissing another person’s lips is common thing around the world expressing happiness and love. Kissing a boy or girl is not a crime until it has been done with both agreements. Even doctors approved that kissing is very good for health. Yet everything will be explained in details in later articles.
